Dental Exams and Cleanings

Dental exams and cleanings are key components of preventive oral care. Exams involve a comprehensive assessment by a dentist, including X-rays, to identify oral health issues. Cleanings, performed by a hygienist, remove plaque and tartar, preventing cavities and gum disease. These routine visits are crucial for oral health maintenance and early issue detection.

Dental X-Rays

Dental X-rays, also known as radiographs, are diagnostic images of a patient's teeth and surrounding oral structures. They are a crucial tool in dentistry for identifying hidden dental problems such as cavities, gum disease, impacted teeth, and bone abnormalities. Our office uses digital X-rays which uses very low radiation compared to traditional X-rays. This enables us to more precisely diagnose problems.

Home Care for Dental Health

Home care for dental health are the daily practices that people undertake to maintain good oral hygiene. It includes brushing teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing to remove food particles and plaque from between teeth, and using an antiseptic mouthwash. Proper home care also involves a balanced diet, limiting sugary snacks, and avoiding tobacco products. These habits help prevent common dental issues such as cavities, gum disease, and tooth decay, promoting long-term oral health. Regular dental check-ups complement home care to ensure optimal dental hygiene.

Sealants

Dental sealants are a preventive dental treatment involving the application of a thin, protective coating to the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars. These sealants are typically made from a plastic resin material. They fill in the natural grooves and crevices of the teeth, creating a barrier that helps prevent the accumulation of food particles and bacteria. This reduces the risk of cavities and is commonly used in pediatric dentistry to protect children's developing teeth. Sealants are a simple and effective way to promote dental health and prevent tooth decay.
